Hi, it's Phil
As a heating system is a significant investment in any property, you are no doubt keen to understand more about the company and people you will be working with. Here's a few words about Phil, the founder of Alpine Heating:
Phil didn't grow up on a building site, instead, Phil has had a 20 year professional career, as a Chartered Systems Engineer, Programme Manager, Integrator and Strategic Planner. Phil is a natural optimiser of all things, always aiming to maximise the performance of whatever is in front of him. Phil's passion for heating systems begun in 2015 when faced with the challenge of a significant (2 buildings comprising 3 residences, roof off and back to masonry) renovation of an old farm in Les Bossons which led to re-training and the registration of Alpine Heating in 2020. Phil has project managed numerous Chamonix and UK building projects and has first hand experience of how to make building projects succeed.
Phil is unusual in that he is both detail focussed, and can see the big picture as to how all the elements of a project need to come together. Whilst Phil will never be the loudest voice in the room, you will find him to be knowedgeable, friendly, engaging and an asset to your project.
Due Dilligence and Business Structure

You may be offered a Heat Pump by your plumber, and there are some great plumbers out there who can connect a heat pump to your building. Unfortunately, whilst the initial price may seem attractive, all too often it's us that get the call after it's too late and there are fundamental and expensive problems that should have been addressed at the design stage. You need to be assured that the thermal and control aspects of your project have been fully engineered before committing to any provider. A heat pump installer who has not obtained the ability to legally handle refrigerant and the RGE certification should be treated with caution. Another great question to ask is that of ongoing support and maintenance/repairs. Many non-Chamonix suppliers will gladly come and do an installation, however later refuse to provide any ongoing support.
Heat pumps, as a relatively new technology, have in some cases earned a bad reputation, which can often be due to poor specification, installation and support. In contrast, we partner with Daikin to specify the most suitable products for your project. You thereby get a manufacturer's assurance that the solution delivered will meet your ongoing needs and will conform to applicable French regulations. In addition, all RGE registered installers are periodically audited by the French authorities to ensure compliance.

You will see from the company registration that we are an 'Enterprise Individuelle', under Phil's name. Depending on the scale of the project the team is augmented by suitably skilled team members to suit the task in hand. In the case of a team being mobilised, Phil will of course be the primary contact and heavily involved in your project to ensure a great outcome.
